We are very happy with our humidifier. I ordered this because we have been using a Sunbeam filter free warm mist humidifier for over four winters non stop. When it finally stopped working this year, I went on line to try to find the exact same model and discovered that Sunbeam became Holmes. This was the closest model to the original one that we had so I took a chance and bought it. It works very well, it is easier to hold while filling it and it has the auto shutoff when it runs out of water which the other one didn't have. Just as easy to clean and puts out the same amount of mist. Hopefully, it lasts as long as the Sunbeam one did.
My husband bought this for me a few weeks ago because i was having problems with bronchitis and my asthma due to the lack of humidity in the air. Ever eince we have it i am able to breathe so much better. The best feature is the ability to put essential oils in the medicine cup. I absolutely love this machine! I had the same model in my office at work, and had been using it for over a year. It worked so well, that I bought 3 more for my home. I didn't feel like shelling out the cash to get a new humidifier on my furnace. No filters or noisy fans either. Plus, this way I can control where the moisture is. I highly recommend this unit. I bought this after owning other Holmes products. This one does everything right. Large water talk, easy to fill and really puts the water in the dry winter air. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
This humidifier gives off a nice warm mist and adds a good amount of moisture to the air. We use it mostly just at night, but I wake up feeling less dried out than normal. It makes nearly no sound except the bubbling of the water every now and then. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
I have been using this warm mist humidifier for 4 weeks. Great output and also helps keep the room warmer so my heater doesn't come on as much. I have even seen it raise the temp of the room by a few degrees. I'm asmatic and also the full tank of water is not too heavy for me to fill.
I bought this humidifier on-line without seeing it in person and I was very pleasantly surprised. It's bigger than I thought I would be based on the price and it works extremely well. I will definitely by this brand and model again. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
I put it in the doorway of my office at night to humidify this 850 SQ FT condo. I start it on high for any hour or so and turn it to low at bedtime. Works well for overnights. Refill in am, usually 3/4 empty. Easy to refill. I do not use it 24 hours, as am gone during day. Steam is great to breath in when my sinuses are sore. No filter to change and no white dust. Sounds like a coffee percolator, but not quite as loud. Easy to clean if not allowed to run dry. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
I have had 4 of these units in the space of 5 years. They do work well and the fact that they have no filter is Awsome. I was very satisfied with them before I found out all the gunk that gets trapped in them. They build up a lot of grime, I'm not only talking about the calcium deposits on the bottom witch can be cleaned with not TO much work. I'm talking about the inside of the machine where the mist comes out. if you look down into the unit you can see where dust and other contaminants get trapped in places you Can't get to unless you take it apart (witch I have done) sometimes it brakes the unit, as this was not intended to be taken apart. It's earatating become there are little nooks and crannies that are very hard to clean even with a qtip. * So I would say this unit is fine for short term use but not if you want to keep it around. You don't want to breath anything in that has been trapped in there. It could make you sick. So I'll be looking for ether better units for my family or go old school and have a pot of water on the stove. Hope this helps others looking for a good unit.
I bought my product last year to help with my son who has asthma due to colds. When we started up again this year, it didn't seem to be working that well. Then one night around 7pm, it started to overheat! The heater melted the bottom of the machine and the result was a white plastic smelling smoke! Luckily we were home and discovered it, unplugged it and removed it from the house. I can only imagine if we were not home, or if it happened in the middle of the night and the fire it could have caused! I do not recommend this product!
